Antique Thai Style Bronze Seated Green 4-Arm Ganesha Statue - 31cm/12"
Measures - (Height) 31cm/12"
An antique Thai‑style bronze seated Ganesha with a particularly captivating, gently mottled patina that gives the piece great depth and character.
Ganesha, the elephant‑headed son of Shiva, is shown here in a poised, contemplative pose, holding a mandala and his broken tusk—emblems of insight, sacrifice and the power of focused intention. He also carries a noose, an attribute that might at first suggest aggression but in fact symbolises the ability to draw in and restrain our own obstacles and negative tendencies. These ritual instruments are deeply metaphorical: they remind us to cut through the inner knots of anger, jealousy and fear so that genuine new beginnings can emerge.
Like Krishna, Ganesha in this aspect celebrates life through its pleasures, beauty and rich sensory experience, while still guiding devotees toward wisdom and balance. The direction of his trunk is especially significant here. Rather than curling to the left or right, it descends straight down, with just a slight lift at the tip—an unusually rare iconography. This straight trunk is traditionally associated with perfect spiritual equilibrium, unshakeable concentration and the awakened flow of kundalini energy. It is considered a powerful form that points to mastery of one’s inner forces and the possibility of liberation.
In his earliest Indian manifestations, Ganesha was closely linked with fertility and the flourishing of life. Over time he became universally honoured as the Remover of Obstacles, Lord of Beginnings, patron of arts and sciences, and deity of intellect and wisdom—called upon at the start of any important endeavour. This finely cast Thai‑style bronze captures that layered identity: at once gentle and formidable, playful and profoundly protective.
One of the most recognisable of all Asian deities, this distinctive Ganesha—combining rare trunk position, refined casting and atmospheric patina—will bring a sense of quiet blessing, personality and timeless style to any home, office or sacred space.

Thank you so very much! Well, I needed Buddha here -- and I certainly now have Buddha here in many ways and many forms -- with thanks to HDAsianArt. Each statue you've sent has worked out very well -- each in its own way -- each combined in settings with other art pieces -- each has blended well -- finishing off different areas of my home -- and all communicates well to tell a story of different aspects of my life. I intentionally chose your pieces -- to get away from the "norm" of beautiful gild Buddhas that everyone has -- your pieces are quite unique -- and a bit more "real" -- which serves my purpose well. So, thank you.
