Many customers place Buddha statues in an entrance, living room, meditation space, study, garden, or prayer area.

If you follow traditional placement ideas, east, north, or north-east are commonly preferred, but the most important thing is a stable, dignified location away from bathrooms, clutter, harsh heat, damp, or constant direct sun.

Bronze and brass are durable and show beautiful surface character over time. Stone has a grounded, architectural presence and suits larger interiors or sheltered outdoor spaces.

Wood brings warmth and softness but should be kept away from very damp or very dry conditions.

Lacquer and papier-mache pieces are best treated as delicate fine art and displayed indoors.

Use the gentlest method first: dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or very soft brush, support the piece while moving it, and avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, soaking, or aggressive polishing.

Old bronze and brass should not be over-polished, as patina is part of the character of the piece.

For stone, use minimal water and dry thoroughly. For wood, avoid strong heat, direct sunlight, and excess humidity.

If a piece has gilding, lacquer, old patina, or fragile repairs, ask us before cleaning.

Start by deciding where the Buddha will sit, then choose a size, material, and posture that suit your room; our descriptions explain the symbolism of each pose and mudra so you can match it to your intention.

Each Buddha posture and hand gesture, or mudra, has a specific meaning, such as meditation, teaching, protection, or blessing; our product and blog pages describe the symbolism so you know what the statue represents before you buy.

Buddha statues are best placed at eye level or above, in a clean, calm space such as a living room, meditation corner, or dedicated altar, and they are usually kept away from floors, bathrooms, and directly beside shoes. Our Blog post provide more guidance on this.

Look for clear photographs, accurate descriptions of the form of Shiva (such as Nataraja or meditating yogi), details of material and size, and information about symbolism and origin.

This helps you choose a piece that suits both devotion and display.

Yes, we offer Shiva statues for sale to collectors in the UK and ship many bronze Shiva sculptures to the US and other countries, with packing tailored to the weight and delicacy of each piece.

Our descriptions highlight these features for each piece.

Their architectural lines and quiet presence complement minimalist rooms as well as more layered, travel‑inspired spaces.

If this is not part of the Product description please contact us for the details.

Care & Placement

As a general guideline, Buddha statues are traditionally placed at or above eye level, in a clean, respectful space.

Many people choose a quiet area such as a meditation corner, shelf or altar rather than directly on the floor or in a bathroom.

Personal practice and cultural traditions vary, so we always encourage you to follow what feels most respectful to you.

Many of our customers are drawn to Buddha images for their beauty and calming presence, whether or not they follow a particular religious tradition.

We simply ask that all pieces are displayed with respect—avoiding placements that might be considered inappropriate or flippant.

Some stone and bronze pieces are very well suited to outdoor use and will weather beautifully over time. Others—especially certain woods, lacquers or more delicate finishes—are better kept indoors.

Each listing will indicate if a piece is particularly suitable for outdoor settings; if you are unsure, please contact us for guidance.

Stone sculptures can usually be maintained with gentle dusting or a very lightly damp cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals or pressure washers, especially on carved details.

Outdoor pieces may naturally weather and soften in appearance over the years, which is a normal part of their ageing process.

Wood and lacquer should be kept away from direct heat sources and prolonged strong sunlight.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoid water or chemical cleaners.

For older or more delicate pieces, we recommend extra care when handling and, where possible, displaying them away from high‑traffic areas.

Many natural materials—such as bronze, stone and wood—develop subtle changes over time, especially when exposed to light, air and handling.

This ageing is often considered part of the beauty of the piece.

If you have specific concerns about how a particular statue may age, please contact us and we will be happy to advise.
