An antique Khmer-style bronze Narasimha, the man-lion avatar of Vishnu.
This striking sculpture depicts Narasimha (also written Narasingh or Narasingha), one of the most powerful incarnations of the Hindu god Vishnu and a central deity in many Vaishnava traditions. Shown with a human-like torso and lower body combined with a leonine face, Narasimha embodies the fusion of divine intelligence and raw protective strength. In Hindu mythology, Vishnu assumes this fierce form to destroy the demon king Hiranyakashipu and to rescue and protect his devoted follower Prahlada, earning Narasimha the title of the “Great Protector” who comes to the aid of devotees in times of desperate need.
Khmer interpretations of Narasimha emphasise both majesty and spiritual intensity, and this example is no exception. Large and/or fragile pieces requiring palletising, specialist crating and/or extra packaging may take a little longer. Palletised shipments will be delivered curbside.
