An antique Khmer‑style bronze Buddha statue, rendered with a serene, introspective presence and finely balanced proportions.
The Buddha sits with broad shoulders and a slender waist, draped in a sanghati robe worn diagonally over the left shoulder, its heavily pleated flap falling gracefully to the navel while the right shoulder remains bare in classic monastic fashion.
The face is oval in shape, with almond‑shaped downcast eyes, gently curved brows that meet above a prominent nose, and softly contoured lips that suggest a subtle, exalted smile. Shell‑like curls of hair rise into a lotus‑form ushnisha, symbolising his advanced spiritual attainment, while the long, stretched earlobes recall his youth as a prince adorned with heavy gold earrings, now transformed into a reminder of renunciation and inner wealth.
Casting throughout is beautifully executed, especially evident in the fine modelling of the facial features and the crisp yet fluid treatment of the robe. Large and/or fragile pieces requiring palletising, specialist crating and/or extra packaging may take a little longer. Palletised shipments will be delivered curbside.
