An antique Thai Dvaravati-style Buddha from Thailand. The figure stands in samabhanga, remarkable for the realistic yet delicate delineation of its limbs and the robe that appears to cling naturally to the form. The garment (sanghati) drapes gracefully over the left shoulder.
The right hand is extended in the vitarka mudra, symbolizing the transmission of teaching and intellectual discussion. The lowered left hand offers boons in the varada mudra, signifying generosity and compassionate granting of wishes. Soft, naturalistic waves of drapery flow across his body, subtly revealing the gentle contours beneath.
His visage is striking, with a serene smile and an aquiline nose. The Buddha’s peaceful countenance is characterized by downcast, introspective eyes and a firm brow. His elongated earlobes, stretched from a princely youth adorned with heavy gold earrings, lend an air of quiet wisdom and noble experience.

Large and/or fragile pieces requiring palletising, specialist crating and/or extra packaging may take a little longer. Palletised shipments will be delivered curbside.
