Buddha Statue - Antique Ayutthaya Style Thai Bronze Varada Charity Buddha Statue - 56cm/22"
Measures - (Height) 56cm/22"
An antique Ayutthaya style Buddha statue from Thailand.
The Buddha is stood samabhanga on a round lotus leaf pedestal in the varada or charity mudra. Both lowered hands are in the varada mudra. This mudra offers charity, compassion and the granting of wishes. It signifies the five perfections: Generosity, Morality, Patience, Effort and Meditative Concentration, through the five extended fingers.
The Buddha has a peaceful countenance with downcast introspective eyes and a firm brow. His earlobes are stretched long from a youth spent as a prince wearing heavy gold earrings. The large, flame shaped, ushnisha protuberance on top of his head symbolizes his high level of spiritual development, in the Ayutthaya style.
The peaceful countenance of Lord Buddha exudes harmony. The casting is beautiful as you can see in the fine details of the face. Each detail is rendered perfectly. The distinctive patina of the piece is also particularly delightful.
The sculpture provides the perfect Buddha to bring serenity and timeless style to your home, office or sacred space.

The image of Reclining Vishnu is one of profound beauty and deep symbolism. It encapsulates key concepts in Hindu cosmology: the cyclical nature of time, the balance between creation and dissolution, and the preservation of harmony in the universe.
Vishnu’s serene rest on the endless coils of Ananta Shesha teaches us about the importance of stillness, balance, and surrender in both the cosmic order and our personal lives.
